>Classroom training>Customs Special Procedures
Course overview
For companies that are involved in processing, distribution and many manufacturing activities, the standard application of the duty and import VAT rules can be extremely costly and can limit international trade. Customs authorities recognise this and have a number of special duty regimes that allow you to store, temporarily use, process or repair your goods, with either suspension or relief from import duties and VAT.
Using special procedures is not straightforward - this practical half-day course will explain exactly what options are available to you and the potential benefits of using them. It will guide you through how to use the procedures and the documentation you will need to maintain, to avoid falling foul of the customs authorities.
The course will cover...
- The purpose of the special procedures
- The benefits, drawbacks and procedure for applying for each of the following:
- Inward processing
- Outward processing
- Customs Freight Simplified Procedures (CFSP)
- Simplified declarations
- Customs Warehousing
- Return Goods Relief
- Temporary admissions
- Temporary Exports including ATA Carnets
- Tips and advice for using special customs procedures
- Compliance risks
- Checks and audits
